I have a wide range of counselling experience, and have an eclectic approach allowing me to choose with my client the best way of working together. I will usually aim for a short term intervention requiring no more than eight counselling sessions. These can be weekly or less or more frequently as appropriate.

Terms

• My charges are £35.00 per session hour for general counselling. Different rates apply for supervision and group work. I am happy to discuss these.
• Fees are payable at the close of each counselling session unless some prior arrangement is made.
• Fee scales are reviewed in January in each year
• I will usually charge for:
  1. Appointments cancelled on less than three days notice.
  2. Travel
  3. Consultations by telephone

Counselling Aims

Counselling aims to enable the client to gain a fuller understanding of their situation, and a more grounded emotional base from which an informed decision can be made.

I have worked in counselling settings since 1974. This has been professionally, in the Health Service, and other statutory agencies, in the voluntary sector, and privately.

I hold clinics in Brighouse and in central Halifax. Evening appointments may be available by special arrangement.

• Degree of MA in Counselling Leeds.

• Registered Health Visitor
• Advanced Diploma in Counselling and Group-work

Regulation

I am BACP accredited and UKRC registered independent counsellor. I work within the ethical and professional codes and standards of these bodies.

BACP is the British Association for Counselling, and UKRC is the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors. These are the most widely best respected and recognised bodies approving counselling qualifications, and setting proper standards for those seeking to practising counselling.
